In the past week I've repeatedly called on conservative smear-artists in the SC blogosphere, as well as nationwide, to be fair when they smear people for the comments that they make. So far they have not reacted to comments by Republicans like Senator Chuck Hagel or Representative John Kline with proportionate reactions. Fortunately, Sen. Hagel has offered yet another chance. Thursday, Hagel observed that Iraq was "moving closer and closer to a straight-out civil war" and increasing troops in Baghdad - by moving them from other parts of the country - is "only going to make it worse for us" resulting in an "even worse defeat." Hagel concluded that the US should begin the cut-n-run within the next six months.
Again the opportunity to condemn such anti-Americanism arises for bloggers like Chip of The Chip Mathis Experience, JT of OldController, and Mike of new wars to respond to these comments. I'd put my money on them conveniently ignoring these statements yet again.

My bad, I didn't know I was supposed to respond to Chuck Hagel. My view is that Chuck Hagel is planning to run for president, and is trying to distance himself politically from the current president. He may believe what he's saying, or he may just be trying to be the Anti-Bush. He's forgetting, along with the Democrats, that he doesn't even have to run against Bush, because Bush can't run!
We're in this war, whether we like it or not. We're gonna win it, because leaving Iraq in such a fragile state nearly assures that Iran will try something. Have mistakes been made? Sure. But a bigger mistake would be to leave now, perhaps the biggest mistake of all.
Damnit, Geoff, consider the geopolitical implications! Isn't that what you said?
Just treat Hagel the way you treat Murtha, Kerry, et. al.
Anyway, I've said that I don't agree with him. "Basically he was critical of the war and was pushing for a beginning to an end of our occupation of that broken state (which I don't agree with completely)."

I haven't "attacked" Murtha, that I know of. I said he's dishonest, but I don't think that's an attack unless you can prove that he's not, and I don't think you can.
I find this interesting, though. Care to respond?
You've called him a "dumbass" and have insinuated that he doesn't deserve his medals.
Where? I said he was dishonest.
Kerry, now that's different.
you call him or his constituents dumbass's here as well as here. You also claim "...that Rep. John Murtha, Dumbass, PA, may not actually be the war hero he's been claiming to be."
OK, I called him a dumbass. Hardly an "attack" but whatever.
*I* didn't assert that John Murtha didn't deserve his medals, Sweetness and Light did. I just linked it, if you bothered to read the post. I said that I was reserving judgement for later, if it turned out to be true. I said this:
It may turn out later to be true, and then I will probably say that Democrats sure are stupid for not learning anything from John Kerry, Frankenstein Monster, MA. But I'll hold my tongue for now.
That's hardly calling constituents stupid, more like calling Democratic Leadership stupid. And you have to agree, it's pretty stupid to run out a "war hero" to comment against the war without vetting his record. There were inconsistencies in his record that Sweetness and Light pointed out, I read it, found it mildly interesting, and linked it.
I'm not terribly sure about the credibility of Cybercast News Service, anyway. They're obviously partisan. I've never owned a computer that would even pull up the site, which is odd.
There's this on Jack Murtha, too.
As far as my saying that I hadn't talked about him, I apologize for being wrong. I googled "Jack Murtha" instead of John, which only pulled up the one result.
And please, don't think that conservatives are rallying behind Chuck Hagel. Rush Limbaugh HATES him. He's trying to be a maverick, kinda like John McCain, and it doesn't play well.
And here, so you can write about it later: I think that Chuck Hagel, quite possibly, is a dishonest, irresponsible dumbass. Alert your moonbat hordes!
And please, consider Haloscan comments, they're so much easier to use.
"I don't like Murtha, though, so you can include me if you like. Plus, Diane Irey is kinda cute."
I held this for your response, you basically asked to be added to the group.
I'll switch to haloscan someday, I've got an account and all just not much time. To be honest, I'll probably be at another site before I get around to it. But I agree about blogger comments...
