Bush's Victory "Victory will be achieved," he said yesterday, "by meeting certain clear objectives -- when the terrorists and Saddamists can no longer threaten Iraq's democracy, when the Iraqi security forces can protect their own people, and when Iraq is not a safe haven for terrorists to plot attacks against our country." This tells us two things: 1) We're going to be in Iraq for a long time, even with democracy, 2) We should be in a handful of other states if this is the logic of Bush in his War on Terror(ism) or spreading of democracy or whatever it is that he's doing. It tells me that we need to search for other avenues to address or problems internationally; 'Shock and Awe' is inefficient and unsustainable. Posted by Geoff 8:40 AM // Blogroll AE // Email // |
